THE MIGHTY MIGHTY ARBOR LODGE!

So this chump (and I do mean CHUMP) Dan Jordan thinks that people who live in Beavertron can actually hoop? Like after they drone out at their desk jobs with their ties on all day that they can get in their gas guzzling SUV in the City vehicles and drive 2 blocks to the nearest gym (stopping off at Starfucks for a triple soy vanilla latte with non fat milk or some other bs) to put on their designer workout attire and play basketball?
NO! We're kepin it ghetto and we're bringin the streets behind us out to the BURBS where we are going to whoop up on some suits! I guarantee victory! You heard it here first!

OREGANIC APPAREL

So it's official like a referee with a whistle (thanks E40), OREGANIC APPAREL is a live, healthy company. www.oreganic.org is the temporary website that will be expanded once venture capitalists have been secured.
It's a bit odd sitting up here on the 15th floor of the NINES Hotel with all of these D Bags, but the help is good, the drinks can be made properly, and well, you can't beat the view! Speaking of the help, I really do believe that everyone hired here must have been selected on experience, knowledge of the industry, and being effing HOT! The uniforms the wait staff and the hostesses wear is right off a fucking runway. Let's not get into thw women wearing them!
On the downside of things the clientele are nothing short of rude, D Bag, tools. Everyone is straight out of a magazine and they even talk like it. Civilization clearly escaped these humans (if you can even call them that). Loud, obnoxious, drunk, silver spoon sucking corporate American drones. Polo shirt wearing, khaki pants, tucked in collared shirt, braided belt wearing fools.
The worst part of the whole thing is that people like this reproduce. It's not even that they think they're cool. It's that they just don't get it.
Well, it makes for some great people watching. Between the hotties passing me by and the b.o.d's I wish would just leave, I guess that I will have to keep coming here.

EPIC 31st Birthday Party Recap

So it has been a long time since I really took my birthday seriously and this year had to be the exception. I went all out in a sense. I made a concert type poster detailing out how my party would be held at a local Bar/Club the GOODFOOT where every last Friday of the month is FUNK night. It would start at 10pm since I had to work until 9pm and would be a dance/pinball/beerfest! The after hours party was set to be the Hawthorne Carts (a series of food carts outside on Hawthorne and 12th).
Here's the recap: Left work shortly after 9pm and began skating south towards the GOODFOOT on 28th and SE Stark. My common sense got the best of me and I realized that I wanted a celebratory beer a lot sooner than the GOODFOOT and so I stopped off at the Florida Room where a regualr customer Heather hooked it up! Tuna Melt with Cheddar cheese and tots washed down with ice cold pints of PBR! So good, much love Heather!
This random blond Stephanie was ordering a drink atthe bar where I was eating and commented on my tator tots. After giving her some we continued to flirt and then she got her drink and left. I was in a hurry, but decided to look around and give her the rest of my tots. Found her in the back room with some cute girlfriends and just handed her the basket to which she said "you" with a cute smile. I smiled back and told her "I told you I wouldn't finish them" and walked out with her friends saying goodbye to my back (always leave them wanting more).
Back on my skate it was off into the darkness and bombing south on Vancouver. After reaching the Rose Garden Arena I had pretty much decided that this would be a skate crawl from fave bar to fave bar until I reached the GOODFOOT.

Stumptown

Do you know what I love more than the beautiful women and men who work there? I love the business model. I love how every employee can and does every aspect of the gig. It just makes sense right? No weak links, everyone helping everyone. No one looking down their noses because they feel too good to take out the garbage or recycling.
It sort of reminds me of my job (only not). I work for one of the best companies in Portland and we are "the friendliest store in town" because our employees are treated well. We are paid above the average industry rate and we have great benefits. Our health care has gone up (but whose has not?). Our plan still includes medical, dental, vision, and a afflac as well as a benefit where money can be set aside tax free for known expenditures (ie: child care, etc.).
We also get alternative providers included in our program. You can see a chiropractor, LMT, acupuncturist, or any other alternative health guru and it might be covered? Then there is the 20% off, and the blue slip program (where you can take home non shelf worthy items). The list goes on and on, but what I'm saying is that in this economy I'm not only lucky to have a job, but extremely lucky to work where I do.
If I didn't though, Stumptown, for sure!

Blazers Street Jam Hoops Tournament

Division #1 aka Adult Elite

Definition: The best of the best (TOP GUN reference). College level and up. Semi Pro, NBDL, Overseas comp. Yeah, good runs for sure!

Team name: Team UPPER PLAYGROUND

Ballers/Stats:

JC aka "J Sizzle", "J Dizzle" "John E Bandana" Hernandez (captain), 5'10 PG/Coach/GM/Cheerleader Never played in school (cut from every team I tried out for from elementary school through high school (we did win the intramural league one year).

Jesse Gardner aka "Emajyn" (one half of the hip hop duo the Inkre:Mentals www.inkrementals.com), 5'11 SG/Emcee who played in High School and is the brother of starting PG B.B. Gardner of the Women's NCAA National Champion George Fox Bruin's!

Tony Bonnuci, 6'0 SG/SF who I believe played some college ball locally (state of Oregon) and met playing pick up games @ Peninsula Park.

Hunter Ellis aka "Vanilla Bean" (a bite off of Joel Pryzbilla's "Vanilla Gorilla") 6'2 PF/Wing/Post who is the youth movement on the team.

Dan "D Spot" Spotanski, a 6'4 C/Post/Wing player who like Captain J never played other than outside (it's where we met). Also like me he got cut from his high school team, but was offered the chance to walk on and red shirt at PCC.

Other than Tony Dan is the best/most talented player on the team.
