Stumptown

Do you know what I love more than the beautiful women and men who work there? I love the business model. I love how every employee can and does every aspect of the gig. It just makes sense right? No weak links, everyone helping everyone. No one looking down their noses because they feel too good to take out the garbage or recycling.
It sort of reminds me of my job (only not). I work for one of the best companies in Portland and we are "the friendliest store in town" because our employees are treated well. We are paid above the average industry rate and we have great benefits. Our health care has gone up (but whose has not?). Our plan still includes medical, dental, vision, and a afflac as well as a benefit where money can be set aside tax free for known expenditures (ie: child care, etc.).
We also get alternative providers included in our program. You can see a chiropractor, LMT, acupuncturist, or any other alternative health guru and it might be covered? Then there is the 20% off, and the blue slip program (where you can take home non shelf worthy items). The list goes on and on, but what I'm saying is that in this economy I'm not only lucky to have a job, but extremely lucky to work where I do.
If I didn't though, Stumptown, for sure!
